Supporting your unique relationship with your baby

Every parent, child relationship is unique and so is your postpartum journey. I am a postpartum doula and breastfeeding specialist serving families in the Greater Victoria area. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you in the fourth trimester with compassionate care fitted to your needs.

About Me

Hello! My name is Kalea. I am a Postpartum Doula and Certified Breastfeeding Specialist and mother of two. After my daughter was born we struggled through tongue tie, thrush, an oversupply and many, many clogged ducts. Postpartum was challenging as I navigated the anxiety a first time mom often has with the shifts occurring throughout my new reality. Through all of this I found my passion for breastfeeding/chestfeeding support and helping other parents find their way through the many challenges that come with the early postpartum phase.

I am here to help support you. I can assure judgement free, evidence based, supportive care as we navigate how to best take care of your new baby, your family and yourself.

When not helping families, you can find me spending time with my family, taking care of my two rabbits or on a walk with my camera.

When I brought my precious son home, I was filled with a mix of emotions – excitement, joy, but also anxiety and uncertainty, especially when it came to breastfeeding. Thankfully, I had Kalea to call on. She turned this journey into a breeze. I can't thank her enough for being the guiding light during those early days and providing the unwavering support I needed.

Kalea's calming presence instantly put me at ease. She was genuinely empathetic, taking the time to listen to my concerns and understand my challenges. As a first-time mom, I was unsure of myself and worried about my son's small size and his constant cluster feeding. But she reassured me that it was normal and helped me build my confidence in nurturing my little one.

Practicality was her strong suit. With her extensive knowledge and expertise, she offered invaluable advice on latching techniques, different breastfeeding positions, and ways to maintain a good milk supply. Her approach made all the difference, and soon enough, my son and I were nursing like pros.

However, her impact on my well-being extended beyond the practicalities of breastfeeding. She was a life saver for my mental state. There were moments of exhaustion and self-doubt, but she was there, offering unwavering encouragement and emotional support. She reminded me that motherhood comes with its ups and downs, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed. Her kind words made me feel understood and supported during those vulnerable moments. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for her guidance during those crucial early weeks. She transformed what could have been a challenging and frustrating experience into a beautiful bonding journey with my son.

In conclusion, if you're a new mother seeking breastfeeding support who not only possesses exceptional knowledge but is also incredibly supportive, I wholeheartedly recommend Kalea. She is the epitome of professionalism, compassion, and expertise. Her reassuring and calming presence will ease your worries, and her guidance will empower you to embrace the joys of motherhood.
